Video 1. A GFP chimera used to study protein translocation (Chapter 7)

Video 1: Calcium oscillations revealed by the fluorescent dye Fura Red.™ Fluorescence from the dye Fura Red in each of four cells. Fura Red fluoresces only when calcium concentrations are low. Upon stimulation with an agonist, the cells respond with increases of cytosolic calcium. The cells appear to flash because each time cytosolic calcium goes up, the cell goes dark.
